The worst of the heat (110+)is past Phoenix for awhile. The temps are still high of course, but with our low humidity, if it's less than 105 or so here, it's not that bad.
Yep, the heat wave is slowly making its way through the country, but according to the map, it's letting up on the West Coast. So there is relief in sight. For us, it is supposed to come with a thunderstorm in tow tonight or tomorrow. Then dip back to the 80's. Currently 107, which is the equivalent of 110 in Phoenix with humidity that sucks the air out of your body and makes you want to just collasp onto the pavement with your mouth open. Beginning to understand why hot temperatures in certain areas of the planet are worse than others.
107 in KC was bad, but at least we weren't worried about power outtages and 1000 of deaths. In NYC, you have more people, more cars, and an overly taxed power grid. So it is worse apparently.
Am hoping the city makes it another day. Heard that there were close to 5,000 homes and businesses without power last night. And McDonalds decided to close to save power. They also switched the lights off for a good percentage of Times Square as well as WallStreet, to conserve power.
Strange, I thought this went through when I "submit"ted it yesterday. It went something-or-other like this:
My condition is likewise hot. Icky hot, 3 days (they predicted 2) over 100 degrees. Finally got below 90 the last day or 2. And I don't have air conditioning--making do w/a fan. So if we have another blackout up here, don't blame me!
Glad you dropped in. Hope it cools off soon where you are.
