Having trawled through my f'list and answered this, it seems only fair to give you all the opportunity to retaliate return the favor. Feel free to rhapsodize. *g*

For those of you who have met me in person...what was the thing that surprised you most about me when we first met? If you do this, post in your journal too.

You're a red-head. But, er...why shouldn't you be?

And you were older than I expected.

Hee! It seems that my having red hair surprised a lot of people.

Older? You mean I'm not six?!?

How relaxed you appear to be. You are exuberant in chat so I guess I was expecting a much more animated person. You sat in your chair to the side of the room (granted your back was killing you) and looked very relaxed. And the way you typed and moved the mouse when you were online at the gathering was so mellow and smooth. Not what I expected at all. I had seen pictures of you, so none of that was a surprise.

Pain meds...they're a great thing. I admit, though, that I am much quieter in person. Discovered that being that quiet online just didn't work. ;-)

You're quieter in person than you are online. But I like people who think before they speak, so it works well in your favor. :) Oh, and I wasn't expecting a red head. Cause, well, really, I as expecting Michelle T. to be there. ;)

Heee! I just realized I missed the opportunity to shoo everyone out of the room at least once with, "Get out! GET OUT!!! GET OUT!!!!!" (just for fun). *g*

Hee! Well, I would've been surprised if you could reach Dawn's supersonic soprano screaming pitch! She had me covering my ears a few times! So if you can...I'm just as glad you didn't.

I was most surprised, as you might guess when I found out you were at OSU when I was there. I think I'd have been even more surprised if the subject of railroads had come up then!

Yes! I can imagine how surprised Cheryl would have been if we had gotten on the subject of railroads!

So, I finally have a few minutes to visit some LJ's (a New Year's Resolution, BTW) and suddenly I see my name pop up! :-)

Hmm, what most suprised me about you - probably (as already mentioned) that you were quieter than I expected because you'd been so "vocal" on the board. I don't usually try to visualize people ahead of time anymore (cuz I'm nearly always way off) so the red hair didn't throw me.

Oh, and I think I would have found a discussion on railroads fascinating. I love trains (runs in the family).

I was completely unsurprised by how sweet you were, but somehow I was surprised that you are a redhead! I don't know why, but maybe I associate red hair with temper. Very cliched, I know.

LOL! Believe me, I have the temper! Many years of long practice enable me not to act on it until I've cooled off. I'm still envious of the Buffy lunchbox, though. All they have now are the "mini lunchboxes." Phoo.

That you didn't actually look like "Little Bit"! Sadly, I can't think of any embarassing ones. ;)

I-I do have the turtleneck argyle sweater and black pants, though! Will that do?

LOL!!! I don't think I've been short (without the verys) since I was a toddler! Except for the time I found myself surrounded by a visiting college basketball team in a small bakery.

Having talked on the phone first, I suppose there wasn't any really significant surprise at meeting you in person, other than admiration for your ability to find a small, out-of-the-way resturant at nighttime, in the rain, on a road that as far as I knew you'd never been on before.

Of course, as one who isn't big on the traveling (the curse of decades of forced on-the-roadness) that likely was a reflection more of my thinking than anything else, but it was still impressive.

BTW, I like redheads, so that was just a plus.
