Awesome! Hey, do you know where I can find the knitting pattern for a Jayne hat? I'm thinking that if I hall some butt on it, I can finish one by the time the movie comes out.
I made some little adjustments to a pattern I found online. I actually made another one for Ded because that was supposed to be mine but, when I tried it on, Squirrel said, "Mom, you're just not a hat person." Pooh. So, I gave it to him. It's a little too snug so I started another one during the Con. BTW, both Squirrel and I were interviewed about the hats on the first day we were there so I'll let y'all know if anything turns up on the net from that.
That's the website for the hat. I changed the colour of the earflaps to a rust colour as the ones I saw with the maroon were just too reddish. My colours are orange, gold, and rust. I decreased at the top a bit differently than the pattern so I ended up with a spiral decreasing pattern. I've knitted a lot of hats so I felt I could just play with this pattern until I was happy with it. I found that I could knit about 2 inches during a one-hour panel at the Con so I was able to knit 2 hats while I was there. I could have made more but I ran out of orange.
Also, I used a smaller needle than was recommended becuase my prototype in which I followed the pattern exactly was not pleasing to me. So I dropped back about 2 sizes smaller, I think. I had a few other little changes I made which I can describe in more detail if you want to contact me.
I'm waiting to see a picture of Bit in her purple hat that I made .. hint, hint.
And I didn't get any pics of her either. In fact, Ded and I quite lost her after Saturday! I even forgot to get a picture of Ded and "George Lucas" but I did see George and his wife at Breakfast in the Village on Sunday morning. I am now ready to go borrow The Prisoner DVD's from my nephew to reminisce about that show.
I saw that Xena girl in one of my costume panels. Her costume was awesome. And YAY Buddy!Jesus! The only I truly missed was from last year - Jesus on a pogo stick...
Did you see the nearly nude girl in the negligee on Sunday night, I mean Monday a.m? She was at the Concourse around 3a.m. and posing for the men sans robe wearing pasties and a g-string.
BTW, how many Serenity panels did you get to? I found that the way to avoid the line was to wait until everyone got into the room and then just walk in and sit wherever. I mean, you knew you weren't going to get close anyway so why waste your time standing on line for an hour?
I did see her. (And didn't take a picture of her, but there's a couple online from other people, as are pictures of the ladies dressed in bodypaint). I ended up mostly just wandering around here and there and back again on Sunday and Monday. And I only went to the first Serenity panel, bad me.
