How many of the last names of the characters are historically recognizable, and is there any significance to it?
Desmond [David] Hume
Daniel [Michael] Faraday
Kate [Jane] Austen
Charlotte [Clive] Staples Lewis
Juliet [Edmund] Burke
John [John] Locke
George [Hermann] Minkowski
and possibly more that I just don't recognise.
Hmmmm. Somehow I think this is not random chance.
